Design Exhibitor Invite

Dear Designers + Artists -

We are excited to invite you to participate in the Silver Room Sound System Block Party Design Pavillion exhibition taking place July 16-17 at Oakwood Beach in Chicago.This year’s Block Party’s theme is Back Together Again, and similarly, the Design Exhibition will center on the theme of Connected Again, which we hope allows the collective of designers to freely and intuitively develop your story as needed allowing your narratives of togetherness to enhance your final work or object. Feel free to assign past or recent works that fit the criteria.We are not asking for new work however, it is gladly welcomed.Your works will be presented in conjunction with hands-on activities and design-centric programming.

Submission deadline: Friday, July 8, 2022
There is no fee for entry. We ask no percentage of your sales. Just to have fun and show work that inspires beauty through form.

Fine Print:
Object Specifications: All items need to be self-supported. Due to the nature of the exhibition items will not be able to be displayed hanging. We may be able to supply plinths and/or platforms to display the works on upon assessment of the complete collection.

Important to Note: Installations will be exhibited in public space during daylight hours for the weekend of the Block Party. As such, you should consider how your work will engage visitors at different times of the day, however, the pieces will be moved into a secure container each night. The site will be monitored by hired security for the weekend. As such, participants should refrain from using living plant material and submit objects and designs that can be moved and staged with minimal curation requirements.
